on the importance of perception

Tuesday May 6, 2008

I am consumed by visuals. Completely. I stopped working on a paper for two seconds and went off to photog for the next twenty minutes, reliving each mood, each scene. A properly constructed photo does far, far more than simply give the viewer a pleasing aesthetic to look at. I’m obsessed with that idea.

And it’s killing me to not have a camera for these past weeks. I already have a maxed-out credit card to pay off, but it’s getting to the point where I might have to open another, just to get another camera.

Everything is beautiful. The trick, the challenge is to find the right vantage point, the perfect light to put it in.
